It’s not speed.
It’s preparation.
Watch a beginner change from G to C.
They:
Lift every finger
Hover above the fretboard
Search for the next shape
Then place them one by one
That’s four separate movements.
Now watch someone experienced.
Their fingers move early.
They anchor.
They minimize distance.
The chord change actually starts before the strum.
Take two chords. Any two.
Set a timer for 3 minutes.
Don’t strum.
Just switch back and forth slowly and perfectly.
Clean.
Look for common notes, use as anchor point.
Minimal movement.
You’ll improve faster doing that than blasting through songs badly.
Speed comes from efficiency.
Efficiency comes from slow control.
