West Coast Guitar Foundry is built on a simple belief: yes — you really can play guitar.
Based on the Eyre Peninsula, I offer guitar lessons for all ages and skill levels, with a balanced approach that combines technique, music theory, and real‑world playing. Whether your goal is to strum around a campfire, write your own songs, or perform on stage, my aim is to help you understand what you’re playing, build real confidence, and enjoy the process.
Hi, I’m the founder and teacher behind West Coast Guitar Foundry.
I’ve been teaching guitar since my early twenties, on and off throughout my thirties, and consistently for the past seven years. Over that time I’ve worked with students of all ages and backgrounds — complete beginners, returning players, hobbyists, and aspiring performers.
Music has always been a passion of mine, and guitar has been my instrument of choice for as long as I can remember. I started teaching because I genuinely enjoy sharing what I’ve learned and inspiring others to discover what music can do for them. To me, music is a universal language — it connects people, builds confidence, and gives you a voice when words fall short.
My teaching style is built around a balanced approach:
Technique – so your hands are comfortable, relaxed, and injury‑free
Theory – so you understand what you’re playing and how it all fits together
Practical playing – so you’re making music from the very beginning
Rather than just memorising shapes or copying tabs, I focus on helping students understand how chords, scales, and songs actually work. This means you don’t just learn what to play — you learn why it works, and how to apply it in new situations.
I teach students of all ages and ability levels up to advanced intermediate players, mainly through in‑person lessons here on the Eyre Peninsula. I’m now expanding into online resources and tools so that more students can access structured, supportive guitar learning wherever they are.
My goal is always the same: to help each student achieve what they personally aspire to.
That might be:
Becoming a confident campfire guitarist
Playing in a band or performing live
Writing original songs
Or simply enjoying music as a lifelong hobby
There’s no single “right” path — only your path.
At West Coast Guitar Foundry, the focus is on encouragement, understanding, and steady progress. Learning guitar doesn’t have to be confusing or frustrating. With the right guidance, structure, and mindset, anyone can make real progress.
And that’s the idea behind everything I teach and build here:
Yes — you really can play guitar.
